Apples for allergy sufferers: our variety family has grown!
'Sonnenglanz' and “Gräfin Goldach” have been tried and tested for years and are well established on the market. Now “Prinzregent Luitpold” is joining them – as the new star of allergy-friendly varieties!
For over ten years, the apple varieties “Gräfin Goldach” (sweet, similar to “Jonagold”) and “Sonnenglanz” (delicately tart) have set the standard among allergy-friendly apple varieties. They can be eaten without any problems by people who suffer from Mal d1 apple allergy. Now “Prinzregent Luitpold” has been added to the market. With its tart fruit (similar to Topaz), it is the apple with the lowest content of allergy-triggering proteins. All of this has been proven in a scientific study published here: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9412969/
'Prinzregent Luitpold' is very easy to grow: high-yielding, good colouring and excellent shelf life. For more information on apple allergies, visit www.apfelallergie.de
