Two trade shows, one weekend: Fruchtwelt Bodensee and agrarwelt on February 19th - 21st 2010 - Strong exhibitor response.
Friedrichshafen, Germany. For the second time, Messe Friedrichshafen will play host to fruitgrowers and other cultivators at the same time. Following its successful premiere in 2008, the agrarwelt trade show will once again be held in conjunction with Fruchtwelt Bodensee. On February 19th - 21st, 2010, representatives of the fruit growing industry will join with those of the overall agricultural industry to share their experience and information on current trends. As in previous years, the 34th edition of Bodensee-Obstbautage will supplement the attractions of Fruchtwelt Bodensee with a series of lectures on a wide variety of topics.
"Fruchtwelt Bodensee is one of the European fruit industry’s key meeting points and is always a big crowdpleaser. So far this year, exhibitor registrations are up 50 percent compared to this point in 2007," reports Project Director Petra Rathgeber. "And thanks to its wide range of common topics, the agrarwelt show is just the right match." The series of lectures will thus begin on opening day with a topic that should interest all trade visitors: "Crop Protection in Changing Times". Giving the lecture will be Professor Georg Backhaus, President of Germany’s Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants and an expert in the field of crop protection, who will address conventional crop protection in the context of global food security. In the following lecture titled "Organized Marketing in the Field of Agriculture", Professor Reiner Doluschitz, Director of the Research Centre of Cooperatives and of the Department of Farm Management at the University of Hohenheim will set forth the importance for cultivators of joining forces in the interest of economic efficiency and performance.
In 2008, some 300 exhibitors presented their wares to fruit growers, other cultivators and distillers. More than16,000 trade visitors attended the industry lectures and comprehensive range of exhibits.
Fruchtwelt Bodensee, the international trade show for pomaceous fruit, stone fruit, berries, hops and distilling, is held every two years at Lake Constance (Germany), providing information about the latest trends and products in the fields of fruit cultivation, distilling, harvesting machinery, crop protection and plant nurseries, and presenting goods to independent breweries and hobby brewers. The simultaneously held agrarwelt trade show focuses on bio-energy, regional agricultural activity and agricultural technology.
